Grant Galpin is a management & community relations consultant who assists non-profit organizations, government agencies, and business firms to connect well with local communities and residents. He launched GG &Associates Inc in 2005 (www.ggassociates.ca) to specifically help non-profit organizations turn their community-building visions into reality through public engagement, development of synergistic partnerships, and start-up management processes. He has also worked alongside government and energy firms in the public engagement process, infrastructure consultation, development of community investment programs, and aboriginal consultation.
Prior to launching GG & Associates Inc, Grant spent 13 years in the start-up and management of local churches, and 10 years in the computerized banking field. During this time he completed his Master of Divinity with a specific focus on non-profit start-up management. Over the past 20 years, he has learned and appreciated the power of local community members and grassroots efforts to make a substantial difference in their urban and suburban contexts. And for corporate entities, Grant believes that consultation and strong connections with local community leaders, residents, and grassroots groups will pay strong dividends over the long haul.
Grant is committed to building true community partnerships through public consultation processes that will stand the test of time, and that involve all stakeholders. With grassroots groups mobilizing in record numbers, the need has never been greater for community, energy, and infrastructure projects to include the local residents and community groups as partners to ensure successful results. Grant can facilitate the process, engage the local residents through a variety of methods, and build the partnerships needed for success.
Our clients have included the NE Centre of Community Society (development of the $120 million Genesis Centre of Community Wellness) in Calgary, EnCana Corporation (Community consultation), Conoco Phillips Canada (Community consultation), Laricina Energy Ltd (Aboriginal consultation), Athabasca Oil Sands Corporation (Aboriginal consultation), AltaLink Management Ltd (Public consultation), and NaturEner Energy Canada (Wind energy public consultation).
